– During official activities, officers of the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław detected 66.5 kg of tobacco and nearly 175,000 cigarettes without excise stamps at the marketplace in Sieniawka – reports Sebastian Polański, from the Communications Department of the Tax Administration Chamber in Wrocław. – The illegal tobacco products were hidden in metal cabinets behind an unmarked commercial pavilion.
The value of the seized goods was estimated at nearly PLN 180,000. Losses to the State Treasury were estimated at more than PLN 220,000.
During the inspection activities, the officers were accompanied by a service dog trained to detect tobacco.
