Members of the Association of Polish City Mayors – Work, Development, Responsibility (PRO), which includes, among others, Mayor Piotr Roman, met with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. One of the issues raised during the meeting concerned the powers of the municipal police.
As P. Roman said during Wednesday’s meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council, the municipal police are an “underused tool” in the fight against the scourge of road rogues. Under the current regulations, a municipal police officer cannot even stop a speeding car.
Whether municipal police officers will be granted additional powers is not known at this point. We will probably return to the subject.
What do you think? We invite you to discuss it.
