Officers from the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters detained a 29-year-old resident of the Pomeranian Voivodeship suspected of persistently stalking a teenage girl. – The perpetrator initially acted through social media and by telephone, using them to contact a young girl from Lower Silesia. He then travelled to Bolesławiec, covering a distance of more than 400 km, to meet the teenager in person despite her lack of consent – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Wrocław Voivodeship Police Headquarters.

She adds:

In connection with the stalking, the Bolesławiec prosecutor imposed a ban on the suspect contacting or approaching the victim. Because the man continued trying to meet the 18-year-old in person, he was detained.

The police officers, prosecutor and court all agreed that the stalker should be placed in pre-trial detention. The man will spend three months there. He faces a sentence of between six months and as many as eight years in prison.
