Is it possible to raise the issue of parking in the paid parking zone in Bolesławiec? It concerns the charging of an additional fee resulting from the regulations. The problem is that when the parking time is exceeded, a fee of PLN 75 is charged.

He argued: – This is treated as a failure to pay, even though the driver paid the fee and fulfilled that obligation; only the time was exceeded. Paragraph 9 of the regulations is too general and treats everyone equally, including those who ignored the obligation to pay for parking.

He also proposed: – Let the City charge an additional fee, but at a lower amount when there is a ticket but the parking time has been exceeded. Under this approach, exceeding the time by 1 minute immediately results in a PLN 75 fee. It does not matter whether someone stays 1 minute, an hour or the entire day longer.

We asked Bolesławiec City Hall for comment. Spokesperson Agnieszka Gergont explains:

A driver who has not paid for parking in the paid parking zone (including exceeding the parking time) must expect to be required to pay an additional fee. This obligation results from the provisions of the Public Roads Act and a resolution of the city council.

She adds:

It is worth recalling that, since the zone began operating, payment for parking in the paid parking zone in Bolesławiec has been possible through the AnyPark mobile application (formerly called Pango). Transactions can be completed on one’s own phone, without having to look for a parking meter and return to the car with proof of payment. Drivers can also save money through per-minute billing rather than being charged for each started hour. This way, parking costs will always remain under control. At any time, motorists can also extend their parking time through the application without having to return to the car.
