Recently, scammers have started using a new method to gain access to our data or codes that enable access to an account. Mobile phone users are receiving SMS messages about being placed under quarantine. The message contains a link/address to a website. The messages are designed to make the recipient click the link. Let us beware of such links, as this is an attempt at fraud and data theft!
We remind you that quarantine is imposed automatically when crossing the border or on the basis of a previously conducted epidemiological interview by employees of the state sanitary inspection. After being referred for quarantine, a person receives a legitimate SMS with the following content: “You are under quarantine. You have a statutory obligation to use the Home Quarantine app. It is available in the App Store and Google Play.”
Scammers devise various ways to steal our data. Whenever you receive such SMS messages containing a link, please do not open the attachments. We may fall victim to scammers who want to steal data from us, which could result in the loss of money held in our account, or install malicious software on our devices.
