On Monday, March 1, work began on the reconstruction of Karola Miarki and Żwirki i Wigury Streets in Bolesławiec. In connection with the renovation, traffic disruptions will occur along this section until the end of October this year. However, drivers and pedestrians do not need to worry. The streets will not be completely closed to traffic. The renovation will be carried out in stages.
The investment is being carried out by the consortium of ABM Pol-Dróg Legnica and Usługi Ogólnobudowlane Wilbud from Krzeszów. On Friday, February 26, representatives of both companies met with the county authorities and signed a handover protocol for the construction site. “The contractor has undertaken to develop and secure the site,” says Małgorzata Nowak, head of the Investments and Public Procurement Department of the Bolesławiec County Office.
The investment will include road drainage, construction of lighting, carriageways, sidewalks, bus bays and parking lots, as well as the installation of traffic lights and road signage. “We will comprehensively modernize these streets,” says Dariusz Kwaśniewski, a member of the Bolesławiec County Board. The final completion of the works is scheduled for November this year.
The project aims, among other things, to improve the connection between the county road and the voivodeship road network, improve traffic safety and organization, reduce the number of accidents and collisions, and adapt the infrastructure to the needs of people with disabilities.
