On Wednesday afternoon (October 6), because parts of the Bolesławiec bypass (Cieszkowskiego Street, toward Solidarności Roundabout) and part of Tysiąclecia Avenue (near Tesco, toward Solidarności Roundabout) were closed to traffic, getting through the rest of the city was a real challenge requiring a great deal of patience.
The streets were closed to traffic during the operation to recover unexploded ordnance by bomb-disposal experts. The city authorities issued an official statement on the matter.
Huge traffic jams formed in Bolesławiec. At times, Kosiby Street was congested from the entrance to Bolesławiec all the way to the city stadium. Traffic jams larger than usual also formed in other parts of Bolesławiec.
