The visit of the international partners, who have been successfully cooperating for 20 years, was a working visit. Our foreign neighbours were very interested in distance-learning solutions that helped pupils at our county schools get through the most difficult period of the pandemic. They made no secret of their appreciation when visiting the well-equipped computer rooms at the Electronic Schools Complex and taking part in a demonstration distance lesson at the Construction School Complex.
The last school they visited was the County Complex of Schools and Special-Education Institutions in Bolesławiec. This school is well known to both sides, because Bolesławiec County, together with Bolesławiec Municipal Commune and Bautzen County, are participating in a cross-border project that improves the quality of education for young people on both sides of the border. It was במסגרת this project that the historic special-school building was modernised and conditions for modern education were created there.
“Exceptional children require exceptional care and education,” the project coordinators emphasise. “So that, according to their abilities, they can learn, undergo rehabilitation, and develop their passions and talents.”
These purposes are served by the unusual solutions from which similar institutions can draw inspiration, not only in Poland. The heads of education in Bautzen visited, among other places, the “Experiences of the World” room and the catering workshop at PZSiPS.
As part of the international project, regular art workshops were also held that day, during which Polish and German young people work together to prepare the final project entitled “Bridges Between Us”.
