A reader wrote to us:
The issue of rats on Podgórna Street. Today I noticed considerable activity from these rodents. They are running along the street and on the pavements beneath the apartment blocks.
And added:
Is the city taking any preventive measures to limit their population? As is widely known, rat poison in basements is effective only once; a rat learns quickly. If one dies, the others will not touch it.
We asked Miasto Bolesławiec about the matter. Here is the response:
Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Mieszkaniowej w Bolesławcu reports that in 2021, deratization of properties owned by Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec was commissioned twice (in April and July).
In addition, written requests were sent to PWiK Sp. z o. o. w Bolesławcu and all property managers in the city, asking them to carry out deratization on the properties they manage.
