The “By City Bus Through Bolesławiec” competition is, as we read on the website of the Bolesławiec municipal authorities, a long-standing tradition of activities carried out by the Municipal Centre for Environmental Education in cooperation with the Municipal Transport Company. The aim of the initiative is to increase children’s and parents’ knowledge about the need to protect air quality in the city by using public transport. (The competition was held in connection with European Sustainable Transport Week, organised every year at the same time—from 16 to 22 September.) This year’s edition was held under the slogan: “Use sustainable mobility. Take care of your health”.

A total of 113 entries were submitted to the competition. MCEE: “It was decided to honour 24 children and award two first, two second and two third places.”

An additional attraction of the competition was a several-hour exhibition of the winners’ works, displayed in two of Bolesławiec’s newest electric buses, which were parked in the market square at the time.
