Once again, the jury of the competition organized by the Association of Polish Counties selected the best and most development-oriented local governments. As reported by Bolesławiec City Hall:
The National Ranking of Municipalities and Counties is a free and voluntary competition conducted by the Association of Polish Counties. Winners are selected in the following categories:
- counties with up to 60,000 residents,
- counties with between 60,000 and 120,000 residents,
- counties with more than 120,000 residents,
- cities with county rights,
- urban and urban-rural municipalities,
- rural municipalities.
How did the City of Bolesławiec perform?
In last year's edition, Bolesławiec placed second. (Bolesławiec competes in the urban and urban-rural municipalities category. Since 2003, participation in the ZPP ranking has made it possible to compare the city with other cities in Poland).

When evaluating local government units, ZPP experts give their assessment according to numerous criteria grouped into ten thematic areas, including:
- pro-investment and development-oriented activities,
- solutions improving the quality of service for residents and the operation of the local government unit,
- the development of the information society,
- the development of civil society,
- strengthening information security management systems,
- promoting solutions in healthcare and social assistance,
- supporting initiatives for the market economy; promoting eco-energy and environmentally friendly solutions,
- national and international cooperation,
- promotional activities.
The order of the distinguished entities on the list depends on the results achieved by the local government and the activities completed. The ranking is updated on an ongoing basis by experts online and continues throughout the year.
