On Wednesday, two serious road accidents occurred in the Jelenia Góra region. The first took place at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Dzierżonia Street in Jelenia Góra. “Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of a Volkswagen, travelling towards Wojanów and making a left turn, most likely failed to give way to a Hyundai, resulting in a collision,” reports Deputy Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. “The Hyundai left the road, and the VW then hit a Renault. Six people were taken to hospital.”
The second accident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Jakuszyce. The spokeswoman:
Preliminary findings indicate that a 27-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle on a bend, hit a crash barrier, and the motorcycle overturned in the middle of the lane used by a 22-year-old motorcyclist. The woman was unable to avoid the overturned vehicle and fell herself, sustaining injuries lasting more than seven days.
Officers: “As always, we appeal to all drivers to exercise caution and obey the regulations. Every road user must bear their own safety and the safety of others in mind.”
They add:
Motorcyclist, remember that public roads are not racetracks! So think about other drivers. Follow the rules of the road:
- Do not exceed the speed limit.
- Do not force your way through.
- Exercise limited trust towards other drivers.
- Wear reflective clothing to make yourself more visible on the road.
