The new school year has begun at educational institutions in Powiat Bolesławiecki. Which fields are the most popular? This will probably come as no surprise—many young people want to pursue careers in the IT sector (graphics, programming, computer science). In general-education secondary schools, humanities profiles were also very popular this year.
Which fields attracted the least interest?
Welding, underground mining (despite cooperation with KGHM) and the ceramic decorator profession, which is so necessary in a city famous for its ceramics. So few applicants applied for these fields that the aforementioned classes were ultimately not formed this year.
Katarzyna Zięba, head of the Education, Culture and Sport Department at the Starosty’s Office in Bolesławiec, hopes this is a one-off setback caused, among other things, by the pandemic and, consequently, the inability to reach all interested eighth-graders with Powiat’s educational offer.
