The European Federation of Napoleonic Cities brings together cities whose history is connected with Napoleon Bonaparte. Its president is a descendant of the Bonaparte family – Charles Napoleon Bonaparte. EFMN members participate in a Europe-wide system promoting cities, local events and tourism.

A meeting promoting the association’s activities was held in Pułtusk on 16 February. Representatives of Polish and Russian cities connected with the era in various ways took part in the meeting promoting EFMN’s activities. Bolesławiec was represented by the city’s deputy mayor, Maciej Małkowski, and historian from the Museum of Ceramics, Andrzej Olejniczak.

Our city is one of the most important places connected with the history of the Emperor of the French. Napoleon visited us five times. We wrote about this here.

We also invite you to the Museum of Ceramics, where the city history section contains rooms devoted to the Napoleonic era. The museum has recreated a period room where Napoleon Bonaparte could have stayed overnight and has assembled interesting military artefacts from the time of the Napoleonic Wars.
