– Last weekend, traffic officers from the District Police Headquarters in Góra, while patrolling their assigned area in one of the localities in Góra County, stopped a white Iveco van for a roadside inspection – reports junior warrant officer Przemysław Ratajczyk from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
And he adds:
While checking the vehicle’s technical condition and the cargo it was carrying, the officers discovered a serious violation of the applicable regulations that could have contributed to a huge tragedy on the road. When the officers opened the doors to the Iveco’s cargo area, they saw a horrifying sight. The part of the vehicle intended for transporting goods contained 29 people, who were travelling standing or sitting on crates!
Spokesperson: – Quite apart from the fact that the driver broke the law by transporting 29 more people than the number permitted according to the vehicle registration certificate, above all, he endangered the lives and health of his passengers.
Had an accident occurred, the “passengers” could have suffered serious injuries or even died. The 50-year-old Ukrainian citizen was given a very high fine and lost his driving licence for three months.
