Further fraud attempts have been reported in Bolesławiec County. – A resident of Gromadka Municipality received a call from a withheld number. She heard the voice of a man who introduced himself as a CBŚ officer and informed her that her identity card had been secured and that a loan had already been taken out using it. Of course, the entire operation was being supervised by a prosecutor, whom the woman was also supposedly able to speak to by phone – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

She adds:

Another caller informed the woman that the matter involving the loan could still be blocked, but she had to deposit money into a designated account belonging to a resident of Łódź.

Fortunately, the 39-year-old from Gromadka Municipality quickly realized that she was dealing with scammers and notified the police.

How can you avoid falling victim to criminals?

  • Do not take out any loans or credits for a purpose you do not know.
  • Do not hand your money to a stranger or transfer money to someone else’s account.
  • The police never ask anyone to hand over money.
  • Do not act hastily under the influence of emotions.
