The incident took place on the night of August 9–10 in the area of the Przylesie housing estate in Lubin. – A group of people was disturbing residents’ sleep by behaving loudly – reports Aspirant Krzysztof Pawlik from the Lubin KPP. – A young resident of Lubin emerged from behind the buildings and, pulling out a pneumatic handgun that closely resembled a firearm, fired a shot in the direction of four police officers. At the same time, he shouted offensive slogans, insulting the uniformed officers.
The officer adds:
Fortunately, he did not hit any of them or injure the people who were the subject of the intervention.
The aggressor was quickly subdued, and a pneumatic pistol powered by compressed-gas cartridges and loaded with pellets was secured.
The detained man has already been charged with assaulting and insulting police officers. At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered the 20-year-old’s temporary detention for two months. The suspect now faces a sentence of between one and as many as ten years in prison.
