Officers from the Cybercrime Division of the National Police Headquarters received information that a post had appeared on a social networking site suggesting that its author wanted to commit suicide. Officers:
The information was immediately passed on to the duty officer at the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters, because the owner of the phone from which the call and desperate post had been made was a resident of Osiecznica municipality. To protect the person’s life and health, the duty officer urgently sent officers from the Independent Police Prevention Unit in Legnica, who were serving in Bolesławiec County, to the person who might need help.
It turned out that the woman in question no longer used that number. A young man, a resident of the same municipality, was using it instead.
The officers contacted the desperate man; he confirmed that he had posted on one of the social networking sites that he wanted to take his own life.
The young man was placed under specialist medical care. The police add:
