We received the following message, signed “Residents”:
I am writing to you because we apparently have no other option left, as only you can publicize this situation. We are residents of 6, 5, 5a and 5b Warszawska Street. Someone decided to build a new building right next to our windows. There would
be nothing unusual about that, but the way they are doing it and cutting us off from
the world is simply paranoia.They are depriving us of access to sunlight by leaving construction blocks right next to the windows. We cannot access the basement windows or the courtyards. Residents of buildings 5a and 5b are afraid to let their children into the courtyard because their fence was dismantled and the temporary one that was put up is not secured in any way, creating a risk that children playing there could fall into the excavation.
The complainants add:
Moreover, we are concerned about fire-safety regulations. What would happen in the event of a fire? How would the fire brigade reach people in need from the courtyard side?
We appeal to the developer and those supervising this construction project to take action.
