Traffic police noticed a motorcyclist who was traveling through Nowogrodziec Municipality in a built-up area far too quickly. The man was speeding at 143 km/h, which is as much as 93 km/h faster than permitted by the regulations.
“What is more, the two-wheeler driver—despite clear light and sound signals from the uniformed officers ordering him to stop—decided to avoid meeting the police officers and began fleeing,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. “During the escape, he violated a number of traffic regulations, including driving through an intersection on a red light.”
The result? In one of the localities within Nowogrodziec Municipality, the motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle on a bend and left the road. He also tried to flee on foot, but to no avail. He was quickly detained.
As it turned out, the 27-year-old did not have a driving license, while his vehicle lacked valid technical inspection and mandatory insurance.
The 27-year-old could now face a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
