On 19 July, a ceremonial assembly was held at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec on the occasion of Police Day for officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters. Chief Commander of Police, Inspector General Jarosław Szymczyk, assumed honorary patronage of the celebrations marking the 102nd anniversary of the establishment of the State Police.

The ceremonial assembly began with the commander of the ceremony, Deputy Inspector Tomasz Kazimierczuk, head of the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec Police, submitting a report to Deputy Voivodeship Police Commander in Wrocław, Junior Inspector Robert Frąckowiak.

Next, the head of the Bolesławiec police, Inspector Norbert Kurenda, addressed the gathering, welcoming all guests and promoted officers. The commander thanked the police officers for their reliable and dedicated service, and the employees for “the hard work supporting an efficiently functioning unit.”

The next part consisted of Junior Inspector R. Frąckowiak and Inspector N. Kurenda presenting promotions to higher police ranks and distinctions to employees.

How many police officers were promoted?

Promotions were awarded to:

  • in the officers’ corps – 3 officers,
  • in the aspirants’ corps – 17 police officers,
  • in the non-commissioned officers’ corps – 15 officers,
  • in the rank-and-file corps – 11 police officers.

The county commander also distinguished two employees of the unit: Ilona Żak-Tatarzycka and Grzegorz Żądło, while the Trade Union of Police Employees awarded Adrian Członka.

In addition, Bolesławiec police officers were honored with a medal and decorations. The Silver Medal for Long Service was awarded to Staff Sergeant Rafał Janiec. The Bronze “Distinguished Police Officer” Badge was awarded to:

  • Senior Inspector Jarosław Burdzy,
  • Staff Sergeant Mariusz Białowąs
  • Staff Sergeant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska.

During the ceremony, Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak and Junior Inspector Robert Frąckowiak spoke, drawing attention to the specific nature of the tasks that the pandemic and the resulting threats had placed before police officers.
