Police officers from the Patrol and Intervention Unit in Jelenia Góra detained a 71-year-old woman suspected of damaging property. “The incident took place on July 14, 2021, in Jelenia Góra, where, according to the person who reported it, the neighbor, an elderly woman, broke into the apartment and, angrily, threw hedge trimmers at the newly laid tiles, as a result of which a 1.5-meter tile was damaged,” reports junior aspirant Beata Sosulska-Baran from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.

She adds:

The resident of Karkonosze County caused nearly PLN 600 in losses through her actions.

What caused the elderly woman’s outburst of anger? She became upset because, in her view, the neighbors had deliberately spread sand in her garden.

The woman could now face a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
