At the initiative of the Bolesławiec branch of NSZZ “Solidarity,” work has begun on documenting the history of the Solidarity opposition from 1980 to 1989. Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec (14 Kutuzowa Street, open Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.) is asking for contact from people who were active in “S” and took part in strikes, protests, meetings of workplace structures of NSZZ “Solidarity,” political groups, youth organizations, and similar bodies.
Researchers are looking for source materials that will help with the preparation of a monograph: leaflets, the Solidarity press, founding documents of NSZZ “Solidarity” committees, lists of people belonging to the organizations, accounts, memoirs, as well as information about SB officers who monitored “S” activists.
The initiative’s organizers are asking to borrow or be allowed to copy documents, photographs, recordings, and all kinds of memorabilia.
