According to Joanna Ligór-Tkacz, the district veterinary inspector in Bolesławiec, all municipalities belonging to Bolesławiec County have been included in the red zone (an area subject to level III restrictions).
What does this mean?
District Veterinary Inspectorate:
[…] within the red zone:
- shipments of pigs to other farms or slaughterhouses are possible after an official veterinarian issues a health certificate and the district veterinary inspector grants a decision authorizing the movement of the pigs,
- once these documents have been obtained, the pigs must be moved directly to another farm or slaughterhouse within this zone,
- no earlier than 24 hours before the planned movement, the pigs must be examined by an official veterinarian,
- in the case of meat production for private use, pigs intended for slaughter must be kept on the farm for at least 30 days before slaughter, must undergo an ante-mortem examination by an official veterinarian, and the meat obtained from slaughtering these pigs will undergo a post-mortem examination; in addition, samples will be collected for laboratory testing for African swine fever during the ante-mortem examination of the pigs or the post-mortem examination of the meat from these pigs.
