On Thursday, 8 July, officers conducted the “Speed” operation throughout the police force. The traffic police checked—quite literally—the speed at which drivers were travelling on roads with different speed limits.

KPP Bolesławiec:

Officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec detected a total of 33 offenses, including 26 involving speeding. In two cases, drivers lost their driving licences for three months because, while driving in a built-up area, they exceeded the speed limit by more than 50 km/h.

A resident of Warta Bolesławiecka commune was travelling at more than 100 km/h where the limit was 40 km/h, while a resident of Zgorzelec exceeded the speed limit by 93 km/h. Both men were fined and received penalty points.

In addition, police detained a 28-year-old driver suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.
