– The SPEED group was established to counter dangerous and aggressive behavior on the road and thereby reduce the number of road accidents. It consists of the most experienced traffic police officers, equipped with modern, high-powered patrol cars. During their duties, the officers seek to remove from traffic drivers whose behavior poses a real threat on the road – reports junior warrant officer Przemysław Ratajczyk.

He adds:

Lubin police officers belonging to the SPEED group, while watching over the safety of road users, arrested two such extremely irresponsible drivers within a short period of time.

The first to fall into the officers’ hands was a woman driving an Audi who sped along the S3 expressway at as much as 213 km/h. As she explained to the officers, she wanted to test her husband’s car—or, more precisely, how fast it was capable of going, since she normally drives a vehicle with a considerably less powerful engine. The woman from Lubin received a ticket and 10 penalty points for her “test.”

The second person arrested was a 43-year-old man who was hurrying to a building-supply store. The spokesperson said: “In a built-up area, he exceeded the speed limit by 53 km/h. Officers confiscated his driving licence for three months.”

Police:

Let us remember that excessive speed is one of the main causes of road accidents with tragic consequences, which is why complying with the applicable limits is so important. We must also not forget that anyone who gets behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or under the influence of drugs not only breaks the law, but also poses a huge threat to everyone they encounter on the road.
