An employee of Stary Dworzec Shopping Park wrote to us:

Could you raise the issue of the closed toilet near Stary Dworzec Gallery? I work in one of the shops there, and there has not been a day when someone has not asked for the key to the customers’ toilet. But why ask us, the employees? After all, we are not responsible for it!

They added:

People do not understand when we tell them that the toilet is closed (apparently because of COVID); besides, we are not an information desk. It ends with us taking the blame, listening to unpleasant comments, and having people try to get into the back rooms and use our private toilets! What are we supposed to be blamed for?

They also mentioned:

For the time being, some people have turned the stairs into a toilet (they even relieve themselves there).

Karol Stryja from FLOW explains:

The toilets at Stary Dworzec Shopping Park were closed because there were frequent acts of vandalism and theft. Taps, dispensers and a heater were stolen. The losses amount to approximately PLN 4,000. We plan to reopen the toilets; however, we were forced to introduce a solution under which using the toilet will require payment via a coin-operated mechanism.

They add:

We are currently waiting for the company to arrive and install the device. The work is ongoing.

They also explain that every tenant received the contact number for the facility administrator—the person responsible for the day-to-day operation of the shopping park—who “will be happy to explain the reasons for this situation to any customer.”
