Arek Kukawski from Milików is a second-year student at the lower secondary school in Nowogrodziec. He has had neither hands nor feet since birth. He gets around using heavy, poorly fitted prostheses. – He currently uses prostheses designed for the needs of elderly people, which prevent him from functioning normally – says Alicja Krawczyk, a teacher and initiator of the charity campaign.

Despite his disability, Arek plays football, writes and operates a computer without anyone’s help. He covers the long route from home to school on foot or by bicycle. He needs only suitable arm and leg prostheses to become fully independent. The cost of purchasing the latter is PLN 50,000. What is more, prostheses of this type need to be replaced every two years. The boy comes from a large family. – His parents certainly cannot afford such an expense – Alicja Krawczyk points out.

On Sunday, January 24, a cabaret show for Arek was held in the auditorium of the Primary School in Nowogrodziec. Performers included students and graduates of the lower secondary school in Nowogrodziec, as well as the Grosik cabaret group.

The school’s teachers caused a real sensation by presenting an original “Multifairy Tale” and such hits as “Mydełko Fa” and “Daj mi tę noc”.

The young cabaret performers also delighted the audience. Spectators could admire, among others, a progressive Julia, a lost Jaś, an Arab fascinated by Polish realities, acerbic pious women, and Sydney, who spoke about his romantic troubles.

A raffle was also held during the cabaret show (the organizers collected more than 900 prizes!). Visitors could also sample delicious homemade baked goods. The youngest participants had the opportunity to visit the Happy Playroom and get a unique tattoo.

The total proceeds from the cabaret show amounted to PLN 5,700. Since the beginning of the year, young people from the Adam Mickiewicz Lower Secondary School in Nowogrodziec have collected a total of PLN 8,800 for Arek. The campaign organizers thank everyone helping to make the dream of a young resident of our county come true.
