– Police officers from the Economic Crime Division of the Legnica municipal police headquarters have stopped the criminal activity of two women who advertised a plot of land for sale but never intended to complete the transaction, reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Lower Silesian Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
She explains:
From October 2020 to February 2021, the mother and daughter offered for sale a plot ranging from 15 to 60 ares in Legnica County. The women presented the same land offer to different people. They then concluded preliminary agreements with clients interested in purchasing the property, collecting deposits from them in various amounts.
However, from the very beginning, neither woman intended to finalize the sale of the plots. The result? The fraudsters collected a total of PLN 170,500 from four victims.
The 64- and 44-year-old women have already been charged with fraud. They could now face between six months and as much as eight years in prison.
