On Saturday (January 23), a ceremonial gala was held at the Podkowa Restaurant, where the “Entrepreneur of the Year 2009” awards were presented. The title for the best company in Bolesławiec County was awarded in two categories.
In the category of medium-sized and large companies (employing more than 50 people), the winner was Kopalnia i Zakład Produkcji Piasków Szklarskich "Osiecznica" sp. z o.o. w Osiecznicy – Poland’s largest producer of refined glassmaking sands. In the small-company category (employing up to 50 people), the winner was Skład Budowlany "Jawa" Jacek i Wacława Oszczęda – a wholesaler and producer of construction materials.
The Competition Jury consisted of: Mirosław Seneszyn, Grzegorz Owczarkowski, Stanisław Chwojnicki, Bolesław Wojtasik and Jan Stawiany. The title and the “Kazimierz” statuette were funded by Bolesławiec County. The statuette was made at the Studio Borowski artistic glassworks.
The awards were granted based on turnover dynamics, investment expenditure and charitable activity. “King Casimir the Great is regarded as the best administrator in the country’s history. To honor and reward the entrepreneurship and wisdom of local business representatives, we named our award statuette after this ruler,” said Karol Stasik, President of BTG, during the gala. “I am pleased that the Bolesławiec Business Association decided to revive the competition,” Cezary Przybylski told the laureates and guests attending the gala. “I wish the winners and nominees many successes and awards. Develop yourselves just as Bolesławiec County is developing. A laureate of the Lower Silesian Key to Success and the Lower Silesian Griffin Economic Award,” the county governor added.
