On Sunday, June 20, after 3:00 p.m., the duty officer at the Jawor County Police Headquarters received information about a road accident that occurred on the road between Jawor and Myślibórz.
– Road traffic officers and an investigative team were immediately dispatched to the scene. Together with a forensic technician and an expert in road traffic and the reconstruction of road accidents, the officers carried out a number of procedural activities there – reports junior warrant officer Przemysław Ratajczyk from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
The investigators’ preliminary findings indicate that the 20-year-old driver of a Rover, traveling from Jawor towards Myślibórz, suddenly lost control of the vehicle for reasons not yet known and struck a roadside tree. The car was carrying three men aged between 18 and 20. One of the passengers was transported by a Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter to a hospital in Wrocław, where, unfortunately, he died as a result of his injuries. Spokesperson:
The driver and the other passenger are injured and remain at a medical facility. Their lives are not in danger.
He adds:
In order to clarify the causes and establish the course of this tragic incident, police officers worked at the scene for many hours, carrying out a number of procedural activities. Forensic traces were secured, and an inspection of the scene and the wrecked vehicle was conducted. The forensic technician also prepared photographic documentation and a site sketch.
The officers:
Once again, we appeal to drivers to exercise particular caution on the road, use common sense and prudence, and, above all, remain sober behind the wheel. This is the only way we can ensure our own safety and that of our loved ones.
Let us also remember to adjust the vehicle’s speed to the limits and the conditions on the road so that we can react quickly enough in an emergency. Drivers must be aware that when they take to the road, they become responsible not only for themselves but also for other road users.
