The road surface collapsed in the middle of the intersection of Willowa Street and Obrońców Westerplatte Street in Bolesławiec on Wednesday, June 16. Fortunately, no car fell into it. The size of the hole is evident from the fact that several people could fit inside it. Municipal police officers arrived at the scene. The dangerous hole and collapsed asphalt were marked with warning barriers and tape.
The road probably collapsed as a result of water washing away the soil layers beneath the road surface. On Friday morning, June 18, employees of the Water and Sewerage Company in Bolesławiec will check the condition of a nearby manhole. If there are no obstacles, repair crews will be able to begin filling in the hole and repairing the damaged road surface.
