The debut album by 12-year-old Wiktoria Parkita, a vocalist, composer and lyricist, is now available. The album “Reaching for Dreams” was recorded by the young resident of Osiecznica with Wojtek Szajwaj, an excellent blues guitarist known, among other things, from Obstwa Prezydenta and the completely non-blues Sumptuastic. What is more, the teenager is also responsible for the graphic design of her album.
The album’s title is not accidental: recording an album was the young vocalist’s greatest dream. Now that this goal has been achieved, Wiktoria dreams of making a music video.
The collaboration between the two artists began in an unusual way, as W. Szajwaj teaches Wiktoria to play the guitar. “We understand each other very well despite the age difference,” admits the guitarist and co-author of “Reaching for Dreams.” “Wiktoria loves what she does.”
The album contains 10 tracks, each telling a different story. As the songwriter herself admits, the most important song for her is “My Home,” which speaks about the author’s attachment to tradition, her homeland, the region and the titular home.
Wiktoria will soon be seen and heard live. The young artist will perform a recital during the 4th Glina Show, an event organized by istotne.pl and the BOLESŁAWIANIE.EU association as part of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival.
The album can be purchased on the sklep.istotne.pl website. A set of postcards can also be purchased there.
