The incident took place during the night of June 10–11 in Nowogrodziec. The man reported that someone had shot him with an air rifle. A police patrol went to the scene.
And this is where the problem arose. The man did not open the door, and his phone was switched off—the voicemail answered.
At the Bolesławiec emergency department, the police checked whether medics had treated anyone with a gunshot wound. However, it turned out that no such incident had occurred.
The officers therefore returned to Nowogrodziec. This time, they found the 37-year-old reporting party, who explained that nobody had shot him and that the whole matter had been a joke. The result? The man was fined PLN 500 for making an unfounded call to the police.
