The incident occurred in Wilków in Złotoryja County. “Police officers from the Patrol and Intervention Team of the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja noticed a loader travelling ahead of them. The machine was not keeping to the right-hand lane. It was weaving from the left edge to the right, repeatedly mounting the pavement,” reports Staff Sergeant Dominika Kwakszys, the local police press officer. “Having doubts about the agricultural machine operator’s sobriety, the officers decided to carry out a roadside check.”
As it turned out, quite rightly! The vehicle was being driven by a 19-year-old who was completely drunk. The spokesperson said:
He had trouble getting out of the machine and maintaining his balance.
The test showed nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. The officers stopped the teenager from driving any further and handed the loader over to its owner.
The irresponsible driver has already lost his driving licence. He could now face up to two years behind bars.
