The Zgorzelec prosecutor’s office has prepared and submitted to the court a European Arrest Warrant for 25-year-old Dominik H., suspected of causing an accident in which a three-year-old child was killed.
It cannot be ruled out that the perpetrator fled abroad.
As a reminder, the Investigative Department of the Zgorzelec County Police Headquarters is conducting, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, an investigation into a tragic road accident. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 6, at approximately 3:35 p.m., on road W352 between Zgorzelec and Bogatynia, near the village of Koźmin (Zgorzelec County).
“An Audi and a Volkswagen were involved in the incident. Unfortunately, a three-year-old child died as a result of the injuries sustained. Therefore, we ask all witnesses to the incident and drivers whose vehicles were equipped with dashboard cameras to contact the police in person or by calling 47 87 322 50 or 47 87 322 00,” says Junior Inspector Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Zgorzelec County Police Headquarters.
She adds:

Upon the arrival of the first unit from JRG Zgorzelec, an accident involving two passenger cars was found. A woman in an advanced stage of pregnancy and a three-year-old child in a VW Passat, as well as a man—a passenger—in an Audi A6 were injured. Before emergency services arrived, two JRG Zgorzelec officers who happened to be driving along the road while off duty were performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child.
Further rescue operations were carried out by firefighters together with State Medical Rescue paramedics. Two adults were taken to hospital by the medical rescue team, while a doctor from the Polish Medical Air Rescue service who was at the scene pronounced the child dead. According to witnesses, the driver of the Audi left the scene of the accident in the direction of Radomierzyce.
