Jadwiga Sarzyńska graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 2001, she obtained her diploma in the sculpture studio of Professor Kazimierz Raba. Her artistic interests and explorations include geometric abstraction, concrete art, and the search for original concepts that inspire reflection on important values—not only in the visual arts, but also in music, poetry, and philosophy.
In 2007, she received a scholarship from the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, which enabled her to carry out the first stage of the sculpture-and-photography project “Day and Night.” The works attracted the interest of the Lower Silesian Center for Teacher Development and the artistic community. Jadwiga Sarzyńska was supported by Professor Krystyna Cybińska, an outstanding sculptor from Wrocław. Thanks to her, Sarzyńska’s works were exhibited at the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław in April 2008.
The artist also received an invitation from Vilnius from Wanda and Romuald Mieczkowski. She exhibited her works at the Polish “Znad Wilii” Gallery, an active Polish diaspora cultural center. The exhibition in Vilnius took place in October 2008 and was very well received by the artistic community.
Sarzyńska presented her photography-and-sculpture work at the National Photography Competition in Poznań, “Dialogue—As Far as I Feel, Understand, See...” (the competition focused on the ecumenical dialogue of three monotheistic religions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam). She received an honorable mention for her series “Peeking at the Gray.”
The distinction she received in Poznań, participation in discussion panels, subsequent exhibitions, and meetings always motivate her to continue working and confirm for her that the subjects she explores have broad symbolic significance for different communities and cultures. Invitations to cooperate from educational institutions in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship expand the audience for her art. Below, we present all of the artist’s exhibitions and a film produced by IstotneInformacje.pl.
