– As a result of the customs and tax inspection, it was determined that from January to October 2017, the Wrocław company did not conduct any actual business activity. The chain transactions involving the purchase and sale of rapeseed oil, sunflower oil and their components were traced; suppliers and the inspected company participated in them – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.
She adds:
The analysis of the evidence confirmed that the company participated in artificially created chain transactions. The invoices intended to document transactions within this illegal mechanism did not confirm actual business events. In the tax carousel, the company acted as a so-called buffer, whose task was to create the appearance of conducting legitimate business.
As a result, from January to October 2017, the company overstated input tax by PLN 4,628,831.51.
The case was conducted under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław.
