Who is the ideal candidate for service in the Police?

You are an ideal candidate for service in the Police if you:

  • Have at least secondary education.
  • Have the physical and mental capacity to serve in armed formations subject to special service discipline, which you are prepared to follow.
  • Provide assurance that you will maintain confidentiality in accordance with the requirements set out in regulations on the protection of classified information.
  • Have a regulated status regarding military service – in the case of persons subject to military qualification. A police officer’s service relationship is established by appointment based on a voluntary application to serve. Appointment may take place after completing basic military service or after being transferred to the reserve. This means that a person unfit for active military service in peacetime (category “D”) who is also a reserve soldier meets these requirements. Therefore, having health category “D” does not disqualify a candidate applying to join the Police.
  • Have Polish citizenship. Dual citizenship does not disqualify a candidate during the recruitment process.
  • Have an impeccable reputation.
  • Have not been convicted by a final court judgment of a criminal offence or a fiscal offence.
  • Enjoy full public rights.
