The match against the runners-up was truly crazy. Two of the season’s top teams faced each other, so we certainly could not complain about a lack of excitement. The beginning of the match was even, and nothing suggested a hockey-like score. In the 7th minute, Kamil Posadowski decided to shoot from outside the penalty area, but the hosts’ goalkeeper made a fine save and deflected the ball for a corner. In the 19th minute, Adrian Biały had an excellent chance, but unfortunately for us he hit only the side netting of Iskra’s goal. The hosts also had their opportunities, and shortly afterward Dawid Kowalonek’s good clearance saved us from conceding a goal.

The 20th minute brought an incident that influenced the rest of the match. The Iskra Łagów goalkeeper was shown a red card for pushing a BKS Bolesławiec player, and from that moment we played with an extra man. In the 27th minute, Adrian Puzio struck well from distance, but the ball hit the post and went back into play. In the 33rd minute, we finally got our reward. Adrian Puzio crossed from a corner, and Jacek Bochnia gave us a 1:0 lead with a fine header inside the penalty area. The conceded goal did not discourage the hosts; moreover, they managed to equalize before the break. We therefore went into the dressing room level at 1:1.

The second half began in the best possible way for us. In the 58th minute, Jacek Bochnia made a good run on the left and set up Adrian Kulesza, making it 2:1. In the 54th minute, after a pass from Michał Kapusz and a fine strike from outside the penalty area by Adrian Puzio, the score was already 3:1, and it seemed that the excitement in the match was over. Unfortunately, shortly afterward Iskra Łagów scored a goal to reduce the deficit, and things became tense. In the 59th minute, Adrian Kulesza rose to meet a perfectly delivered cross from Dawid Kowalonek, and we restored our two-goal lead.

In the 62nd minute, following Adrian Puzio’s pass, Adrian Kulesza scored his third goal of the match, making it 5:2 for BKS Bolesławiec. In the 72nd minute, Marcel Ostrowski won the ball from the defenders in front of the penalty area and sent a shot into the top corner, giving the Iskra Łagów goalkeeper no chance.

Unfortunately, the comfortable lead lulled our players into complacency, and despite their numerical advantage they allowed two more goals, making things tense on the pitch again. Fortunately, the determined hosts had no time to score again, and the match ultimately ended with a 6:4 victory for BKS Bolesławiec.

BKS Bolesławiec’s next match will be at home against Hutnik Pieńsk (June 5, 5:00 p.m.).
