Bolesławiec District Police:
The 35-year-old wanted to pay for his purchases at a supermarket and handed the cashier a 100-zloty banknote. When the employees realized that the money was counterfeit, they called the Police.
The suspect explained to investigators the circumstances in which he came into possession of the counterfeit banknote. He now faces a sentence of between one and as many as ten years in prison.
The man has previously been in conflict with the law. He is well known to officers, as he was recently detained in connection with, among other things, bicycle thefts.
