This is one of two county roads without an asphalt surface. It is in terrible condition. In winter—as a resident of Nowogrodziec municipality says, who reported the matter to the Bolesławiec County Road Authority three years ago—an ambulance refused to come because the road was so heavily covered with snow.

The road in question is an approximately one-kilometre stretch between Gierałtów and Godzieszów. According to the person who reported it, when an accident occurs on the A4, navigation systems indicate this road as a detour. And then drivers encounter a rather unpleasant surprise.

The informant adds that local residents would like the county head or the road manager to drive along this road in their private (sic!) cars. Residents also hope that both local governments—the county and Nowogrodziec—will finally reach an agreement on the matter, because they have already spent a fortune repairing their cars.

As Paweł Bednarski, head of the Bolesławiec County Road Authority, explains, it is not the case that this is a forgotten road: the county service repairs it every year and maintains it in winter. Unfortunately, the road is little used—several dozen vehicles per day—and, as P. Bednarski himself admits, the county government gives priority to roads with traffic volumes of several thousand vehicles per day.

There is, however, a chance that the road will be renovated, but this is possible only in cooperation with Nowogrodziec Municipality. The cost of the investment—according to estimates from three years ago—is PLN 450,000–500,000.
