The municipalities of Nowogrodziec, Osiecznica and Warta Bolesławiecka took part in the 18th finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (see the report Extreme in Iwiny). On Sunday, 10 January, the auditorium of the Nowogrodziec primary school hosted performances by Czernianki and Małe Czernianki, Gościszowianki, the “Grosik” Song Cabaret and the well-known Jutrzenka group.
“I am very pleased,” says Halina Krawczyk, acting director of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Nowogrodziec. “The entire event ran smoothly; there were no mishaps.
The local primary school auditorium was packed. The event ended with the traditional Light to Heaven. The orchestra collected around PLN 10,000.
The WOŚP also played in Parowa. Everyone gathered in the local primary school hall could enjoy a disco, as well as watch a performance by the ADS group and a first-aid demonstration. The orchestra in Parowa collected PLN 8,660. The organisers of this year’s finale thank the Volunteer Fire Service and Jan Widomski (for the Light to Heaven).
On the same day, groups Rafineria, Nasza Biesiada, Nad Kwisą and Maślaki performed at the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Osiecznica, along with the duo Michał Kosko and Krzysztof Gołąb.
A first-aid demonstration by the Youth Fire Brigade Team, led by Damian Tomiak, also attracted considerable interest. “We organised the WOŚP finale for the first time. We managed to collect PLN 2,134.71,” says Monika Kumosz, head of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Osiecznica. “I hope that we will collect even more money in the future.
