KPP Bolesławiec:
The head of the District Officers’ Unit at the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, returning home after his shift, noticed two attackers beating a man with a wooden stake. He immediately intervened and detained the assailants. Until reinforcements arrived, the district officer enlisted the help of a passing driver.
The police officer then—through the duty officer at the District Police Headquarters—called a patrol to the scene and handed over the two attackers, residents of Bolesławiec aged 21 and 31.
But that was not the end of it. The officers:
Because the victim, personally known to the intervening officer, left the scene during the off-duty officer’s actions, the head of the district officers’ unit, together with officers from the Investigations Department, went to the victim’s home to carry out activities involving him.
The beaten victim was aggressive toward the police officers. He insulted them using vulgar language and violated the bodily integrity of one of the uniformed officers. The result? The 27-year-old resident of Bolesławiec was also detained. What is more, it turned out that he was drunk—he had 1.6 per mille of alcohol in his system.
All three suspects now face up to three years in prison.
