Who can serve in the police?
You are an ideal candidate for service in the Police if you:
- Have at least a secondary education.
- Are physically and mentally fit for service in armed formations subject to special service discipline, to which you are prepared to submit.
- Can guarantee that you will maintain confidentiality in accordance with the requirements set out in regulations on the protection of classified information.
- Have a regulated military-service status—in the case of persons subject to military qualification. A police officer’s service relationship is established through appointment based on voluntary application for service. Appointment may take place after completion of basic military service or transfer to the reserve. This means that a person unfit for active military service in peacetime (category “D”) who is also a reserve soldier meets these requirements. Therefore, having health category “D” does not disqualify a candidate applying for admission to service in the Police.
- Have Polish citizenship. Holding dual citizenship does not disqualify a candidate during the recruitment process.
- Have an unblemished reputation.
- Have not been convicted by a final court judgment of a crime or a fiscal offense.
- Enjoy full public rights.
