The incident occurred on May 9. “Officers from the Lwówek police station intervened with three men who were drinking alcohol on a bench in the park on Sunday morning. One of them insulted the officers with abusive words and threatened them,” reports Staff Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.

The spokesperson adds:

The 53-year-old from Lwówek Śląski stressed that if he had a gun, he would shoot the police officers just like the murderer from Racibórz, who shot and killed a police officer during a traffic stop.

The man was detained. (In doing so, he tried to force the officers to abandon their official duties).

The 53-year-old was taken to police custody. He could face up to three years in prison.
