The Farewell Room has operated at the municipal cemetery since 2019 and is available for a fee. It was prepared for those who wish to bid farewell to a deceased person before the funeral ceremony in the chapel, among their closest family members. The room prepared by the Cemetery Administrator is located in the cemetery chapel building; it was formerly an office. A large cross is visible on the room’s wall. We asked whether it could be dismantled and whether the administrators also had other religious symbols.
In response to the inquiry submitted, I inform you that the cross located in the farewell room may be removed at the request of the family renting it. It is enough to indicate this before the funeral ceremony. Apart from the cross in question, there are no other religious objects or symbols. We do not have symbols of other denominations.
At the same time, I would like to point out that in the cemetery chapel, when the family makes such a request, Catholic religious symbols are concealed wherever possible.
