The incident occurred on 1 May. Volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec:

[...] at 6:20 p.m. we were dispatched to a report of smoke in a detached house in Nowogrodziec, at Wrzosowa Street. Our first unit to arrive confirmed the report.

And they explain:

The smoke was caused by a fire involving wood stored in the boiler room. Our rescuers, equipped with respiratory protective apparatus, carried the smouldering material outside.

The owner's quick response, extinguishing the fire with a bucket of water, prevented the flames from spreading to the garage and the rest of the building. The firefighters:

In addition, the building's main electricity supply was disconnected, the building was ventilated, and the premises were inspected using a carbon monoxide detector and a thermal imaging camera.

And they add: “Fortunately, it ended with only smoke-blackened rooms.”

Firefighters from Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec took part in the operation, which lasted just under an hour.
