– The preschoolers from Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 2 in Bolesławiec are also learning how to live in an environmentally friendly way. On Thursday, April 22, 2021, they reflected especially on how to protect our common home—Earth—and how to help our planet so that this shared home would become clean, healthy and beautiful. This year’s celebrations were held under the slogan: “Less waste—easier for Earth.”

The colors green and blue accompanied us, as did songs, riddles, dances and tasks to complete. The preschoolers learned about the dangers posed to the natural environment by human activity. A presentation of an educational story showed the children that nature is an inseparable part of our lives, so caring for it and living ecologically is our duty. Every preschooler took an oath concerning compliance with the basic principles of caring for the environment by repeating a rhyme and became a friend of nature. Each group received a task to complete.

The envelopes contained maps of our preschool garden, marking what needed to be done and where in order to help our planet Earth. Equipped with disposable gloves and bags, the children found all the hidden rubbish. After completing the task, they were given “Nature Guardian” medals—reports Krystyna Gerwatowska, director of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 2 in Bolesławiec.

The preschoolers also designed their own eco-friendly bags, colored pictures and created a joint poster entitled “Our Earth.”
