The incident occurred on Saturday, December 26, near Świętoszów. At around 8:00 p.m., a BMW driver stopped to ask a group of pedestrians for directions. One of the pedestrians, a 21-year-old resident of Żagań County, wanted to approach the BMW driver. He was crossing the road when he was hit by an oncoming Volkswagen.
The injured man was taken to a hospital in Bolesławiec. He is in serious condition. The 62-year-old Volkswagen driver was sober.
